Kentucky Announces Medical Cannabis Cultivator and Processor License Winners

Today marked a significant milestone in Kentucky’s journey toward establishing a regulated medical cannabis industry. The Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis, alongside officials from the Kentucky Lottery Corporation, announced the 26 selected businesses that will receive licenses for medical cannabis cultivation and processing. We’re especially excited to share that several clients we supported in the application process successfully secured licenses today, including a processor license as well as Tier 1 and Tier 2 cultivation licenses. We extend our congratulations to our clients who secured licenses, as well as to all selected applicants. These winners are now poised to contribute to Kentucky’s emerging cannabis landscape.

This licensing lottery awarded licenses across four classifications: three tiers for cultivators and one for processors. Here’s a full list of the successful applicants from today’s lottery:

A Rigorous Selection Process

The application process was competitive, with a total of 918 applications submitted for cultivator and processor licenses. After an initial review, 774 applicants (84%) were approved to participate in today’s lottery. Here’s a closer look at the application numbers:

  • Tier I Cultivators: 239 applications, 173 approved for the lottery
